I am looking for replacement latches for a 1991 3600 open that have a key lock in the center. These latches are black and squeeze together to open. The are on both the side storage compartments that house the VHF as well as the fishing pole holders. Does anyone know where I can find them or if the lock can be replaced as they are corroded shut.
Is there a manufacturers name and serial number/part number on the latch anywhere? With a vessel that old, it is going to be hard to locate them without knowing who the manufacturer is and a part number. It could be Perko or Taylor or any number of other companies.
I remember those squeeze locks and Perko comes to mind, but I can't be sure. Go to West Marine or Boater Warehouse and look through their catalogs.
My 1986 36 had the different style chrome Perko latches, below is a picture of what foursanity is looking for, I did a quick online search and could not find anything.
I would check with the factory, they were able to find me a lot of random parts for my 36.
Foursanity, I replaced mine last year on my '88 33 open. i will have to do some searching for the source, but it sure looks the same as Outrigger's picture.
Stay Tuned!
