Engine Access
#1
I recently purchased an 89  31 open and the hydraulic lift system for the engine hatches are gone. Hinges still there but not attached. It appears, and I have been doing also, just sliding the helm and passenger seats back and opening the hatches this way. Is there a better way? I don't mind doing this but I am thinking about painting the non skid deck in the cockpit and would have to deal with the seats scraping the paint off when I opened the hatch. Trying to find solutions.

Honestly, I would look into reinstalling the (electric) lifts. If you ran into an issue away from your dock and needed to get access to the engine room, you'd have a challenge on your hands.

Any idea where one would find these lifts. I see they are wired and the brackets are there but I can't find the actual lifts online.

Contact Brian @Tiara customer support. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Their support, even for older boats, is outstanding.
