We have an offer in on a 2700 and might be joining the family - hello!  We are coming form a 21' Cobalt runabout and thought we wanted a 31 or 36 open, but the more we thought about it, came to the conclusion that retaining some of the small boat qualities but with the Tiara quality and (barely) overnight capability might fit us best.

Would love some feedback on the 2700 if there are any owners out there.  About to go through a survey and sea trial.  Engines are 1100 hour mercruisers, so that part is giving us pause.  We've put 200 hours on our Cobalt in 3 seasons, but a LOT of that is harbor cruising with cocktails as we have a very large and social harbor here.

Any feedback anyone has is welcomed and any watch-outs for the survey too.  Will probably post in the mechanical area too.

Welcome to the forum. Tiara makes a great boat, you won't regret the purchase.

Find a good surveyor and listen to what he says. I don't know about your technical/mechanical skills but alot of things are easily fixed.

Thank you.  We are taking a short preview cruise tomorrow to check suitability of layout and general operation and then a survey next week.

I've read Pascoe's review and he says the boat is easy for DIY service.  Hopefully that works out to be the case.

We owned an '88 27 Open for 18 yrs.  When sold in 2018 it still had one original Crusader 350 with 2100 hrs.  The other was replaced and had ~400 hrs when sold.  The boat was used in Long and Block Island sounds.  Fishing and cruising with regular 4 night stay-aboards in Block Island.  You can do surprisingly well with overnighting if creative.  We replaced the square 6 gallon water heater with a cylindrical one placed outboard of the port motor between the gunnel and manifold.  This freed up space for a significantly larger waste holding tank.  If in the cards, IMHO a hardtop is the best addition for this boat if it does not have one.  Good luck.
