I have a 1998 Tiara 3100 that is missing the anchor light masthead. The mount is there as are the wires. A couple of questions:
1) Does anyone know where I could buy a new masthead, or do I need to get one fabricated?
2) Could someone post a picture of their masthead?
3) The wires have been cut short. To access them do I remove the black starboard on the inside of the windshield?
I added fans on each corner of the windshield to my 2000 41 Open. The wires ran up through the windshield under the rubber gasket all along the top perimeter. I would bet your wires do the same. Look inside the cockpit at the top of your windshield and pull the rubber piece out. There are wires behind it for the wipers and I bet the mast light as well. You can cut and lengthen them from bach there.
The anchor light mast is actually mounted on the rear of the radar arch, not the front. See attached images from my 98 31 open. Not sure what the wires were there were cut short?
The arch mounted light wires can be accessed via removing the courtesy light.
As for the actual mast, check Defender Marine or any of the larger suppliers. I think I've seen similar mast premanufactured, so no need for a custom.
Previous post on accessing wiring in the windshield is accurate. The wiper and other wiring is run in the channel behind the plastic insert in the aluminum frame.
If you google images of 1998 Tiara 3100 Open, you'll see some have the mast light on the windshield.
You might need to contact Tiara and see if they can provide you the part or manufacturer. But with the wires cut as short as they are, you'll have your work cut out for you.
