This is a 1988 3100 Open with no transom door.  I would like to know if anyone has had a door installed or knows of a path to have it done.  Are there any structural issues with cutting a big hole in the transom, I'm guessing yaaa, in which case what has to be "beefed up" if need be.

Might be easier to buy a different 3100 that already has a transom door!

Yes, except there are no fresh water 3100's available in our price range. This is a very nice boat well taken care of.

I would bet that having that done correctly would be very cost prohibitive and would be very hard to ever recoup the investment on resale.

There is a boat fitting this description on the hard next to me.  I was told that ownership changed last fall in 2020.  I have not met the owner.  I did take some pictures though.  Ping me for the extras.
