Spreader lights tripping fuse....
#1
If I leave my spreader lights on for more than about 5 minutes on my 2007 3200, the fuse pops out at the dash and the lights go off. I'm assuming they get too hot. I wondered if using LED blubs might be a better option or is that a no-no?

I replaced my spreaders with led and they work great. The problem is not that they are getting to hot it is that they are drawing too much current OR the circuit breaker is going bad. . Mine did the same thing and I had to replace the circuit breaker and all was fine but I like the LED conversion a lot better.

Thanks............I'll check the breaker and see if that's my issue.

the dash breakers go bad. I have replaced several. It's alway good to have a few spare in different amps. They are cheap enough. If bulbs are burning out....LED would be the way to go for replacements IMHO.

Follow up. It was the breaker. Thanks for the replies.

Just some engineering wisdom here. NEVER install a breaker or fuse with a rating higher than the current carrying capacity of the smallest wire size going to the device. Capt George
