Vessel Info: 2017 Tiara 44 Coupe
Hi Denis,
We had a 2006 38 Open with Cummins shaft drives. The boat was awesome but was destroyed by hurricane Sandy in 2011.
We went without a boat for a while. 2 years ago we found a 2017 44 Coupe with Cummins shaft drives, bow thruster, and even a Glennding joystick system. These boats with shaft drives are like unicorns if you can find one. If you can’t, order it new. The boat is awesome because Tiara is the best.

Thanks for the info!
I have had a pursuit for the last 11 years and just sold it, so I know the quality of the brand.
They are GREAT, it's now time to move up to a more luxurious model for the family
Last year I was in the same place you are when we landed on our ‘99 4000 with Cats. So much of what you’ll ultimately decide on is personal preferences, but can offer two points…
1. Don’t forget living/playing space. How will you use the boat? I’d let this be the primary driver. You can add a bow thruster, but if the family hates sleeping arrangements or seating up top, whether it has Cummins or Cats doesn’t matter.
2. Prioritize the “must haves.” My list was practically identical to yours. Ended up with immaculately cared for Cats and no bow thruster. In the end with engines, it’s more about how they’ve been cared for. And if I had a bow thruster would I use it? I guess. But certainly don’t miss it. The boats quite maneuverable.
Good luck and keep us posted. The shopping is fun, but summer days on the water are funner
We have a 44' Sovran. Cummins with bow thruster, we did not want pods either. Boat has it all including a washer/dryer unit. Plenty of fuel, 500+ gals, plenty of water, 150 gals - we can spend 4-5 nights on the hook no issue at all. Only feature I wish we had was an inverter, of course that can always be added. Boat is very comfortable living wise and is a very sea worthy boat. PM if you have any specific questions.
