Fuel filter replacement type
#1
I recently purchased a 1986 2700 Open with twin 270 Crusader, around 800 hrs on each.  They have generic spin on cartridge fuel filters with no clear bowl underneath.  I am thinking of changing to Racor type filters with the clear bowl underneath to visibly check for water.  Most of the ones I see are for outboard use only.  Are the type with the clear bowl allowed by the Coast Guard to be used on inboard gasoline engines?  Thanks for your help.  I love reading the responses on this users group.  I learn a lot from your experience.

Clear bowls on Racor filters are for outboard motors only. With gas inboards you need the metal bowls.
