Have a '95 3100 Open with Crusader 7.4's. As it seems to be getting more difficult to find the recommended straight SAE 40 weight motor oil, I was looking for acceptable alternatives. Any suggestions?

I contacted Crusader last year regarding oil for my 1988 454s as the manual states 40w. They recommended 15w40 in all applications now. I use Delo 15w40.

I have a 1999 31 with 3116 cats. They reccomend 15w40. I use the same oil for the genny. Most of my friends use the same for other engines. I buy it directly from CAT. The other brand that is good is Rotella. You can get it at Pep Boys or similar stores.
