Anchor Windless
#1
We have a 3600 Convertible that is new to us. Ground tackle is an anchor, about 5 feet of chain and then anchor rode. The boat doesn’t have a true windless, just a power winch similar to what you’d find on a snailboat. I would like to upgrade the anchor and go to all chain. Part of the upgrade would be installing a true windless. I did a search and no old threads came up with this subject. I was hoping someone had done this before and may have some advice, or words of wisdom.

I have a 38 open with a maxwell rc8. We use 50 ft of 5/16 SS chain and 5/8” 8 plait rode…works great. My vessel came with it so I don’t have the retrofit knowledge…just wanted to share that it’s a good combination
