Hello everyone,
We are proud owners of a 1994 Tiara 4000 express / Soft top/ Cummins 6CTA 8.3's with 3000 hours here in Toronto, Canada, and this is our 5th boat (2 Sail, 2 power including a Tiara 32) in 15 years and the first impressions of the bones and design are very satisfying....She passed the survey with flying colours except soft spots and saturation of the swim platform. She has been a freshwater boat all her life.
The enhancements planned are :
a. A Custom hardtop (I know it's an ambitious one
b. New upholstery (easier)
c. Sprucing up on Mechanicals - A diesel guru buddy is flying in from the Carribbean to dign into her and open the motors for a check / refresh.
d. Recoring the swim platform (moderate job)
e. Some electronics upgrades
I noticed that the holding tank is metal which is generally avoided these days with the Fibreglass and plastic tanks finding favour.
I will post separate threads on each of these to get valuable feedback from the experienced wise people here in the forum.
I grew up in a Navy family and have tinkered with glass work, marine systems, electrical and electronics in the past decade and a bit.
Thanks, everyone!
AJ.
