Sea Star Steering
#1
Another question regarding my new 2006 3200, The steering seems very stiff. My wheel on my 2001 Tiara could be spun with one finger. Can't quite do that on this boat as it's very stiff. Rudders turn full range side to side. The system is a Seastar with Raymarine auto pilot
Anyone ever experience this on a Tiara and is it just a matter of bleeding the system?
Thanks for any help.

I have a 2005 36 Sovran. We bought the boat used three years ago, and it was the first boat I owned with hydraulic manual steering, and I thought the same thing. When just sitting in the slip, or idling around, it's pretty easy to turn. When on plane, it takes some real effort, especially to turn hard over in either direction. I called Sea Star and Tiara, and they both felt it was normal based on what I described. I bled the system completely, and it didn't make a difference. Now that we've had it a while I don't really even notice it anymore.
