had my oil changed in boat and generator, marina told me the fuel pump is bad in generator, they ordered me a new one, any idea if this is a big job? first day f my vacation and this happens?? its strange tho bcuz i have never had a problem with my generator before this oil change and now they say its bad, ohhh well, hoping its a simple job, thank you.....

I had a similar situation with my generator. They dealer was doing the 2000hr maintenance and they told me my fuel pump was about ready to fail. It was working perfectly fine. I didn't believe them until they sent me pictures of it being severely rusted. It was not a very expensive repair. I am glad they caught it in advance.

The Onan on my 41 would run for awhile and then die. It could be 5 minutes or 5 hours. Usually it would start back up but every once in awhile it would take a bit to restart and blow a fuse on the starting circuit.

It started getting worse so I set there one day and watched it run and die numerous times. Each time it would start to stumble and act like it was running out of fuel. Replaced the fuel pump and all problems went away. Even if they look perfect, they can still be bad.
