Following prior postings regarding the location of the holding tank vent line carbon filter in a 2003 38 Open (located behind the cabin settee backrest (helm bulhead wall) close to the starboard side and behind the A/C ducts). Seeing where it is seems it would be very hard to remove/replace.. I'm not quite sure how to do it... It seems you can only get 1 arm into the area that the filter is located..... Has anyone found a way to remove/replace the filter? Seems it may require 2 arms to lossen/reattach the filter but therre is not enought room in that area for 2 arms to get in... Is there a better way?
It's a nightmare and I had to remove a lot of stuff like the helm a/c blower and some electrical gear installed in that locker to access it. Thought about moving it for easier access but have not gotten around to it. The only upside is that it is up high relative to the tank so not likely to get wet unless you overflow the tank badly. It is usually water that kills those filters in my experience.
