The refrigerators on my 3900 Sovran are wired only for DC, but the units are capable of being powered by either AC or DC. Has anyone had experience with wiring them for AC?

Interesting ... I'm thinking it would be DC only so it wouldn't have to be separately circuited/switched on the panel with AC and DC.  

The unit would work AC when AC is available automatically on the plug (Novacools have an input socket similar to a PC).  The unit uses AC as the preferential power when both are available.

I own a 2003 38 Open w/Nova Kool refrigerator/freezer and have 2 circuit breakers. One is a 110Volt breaker and the second is a 12 volt DC breaker.... Keep both "ON" and assume if the 110 Volt AC fails then the 12 Volt DC takes over.. M2c

Thanks to both of you! There are no AC circuit breakers on my panel for refrigerators, but I plan to wire them to outlet circuits. I think it's a big advantage to be able to operate the friges on AC when it's available!!
