Today the diver told me that one of the bolts holding the zinc on the starboard transom was broke off at the hull.  His advice was to have the boat hauled to examine and repair rather than attempt an in water repair.  My question is has anyone had this happen before, and if so what type of process is it to fix.  My second thought is that it may be better to just let it lay, and use the remaining bolt with a modified zinc, rather than risk some bigger issue trying to replace the bolt.  Any thoughts?

Get it fixed. Why would you knowing leave your boat in the water when something is wrong. Maybe the bolt 'hole' is now allowing water to leak into the boat or worse into the lamination and may cause further damage. Easy fix for what I can see, haven't had to do it but can't be that difficult. Don't wait, haul, repair, while your out pressure wash bottom, change all zincs, bottom paint, wax etc. Get it done right.
