Hello everyone, I have a 2003 29 Open i need to get to the horn has anyone ever replaced the horn or adjusted it. I know where it is but cant seem to get to it. I have replaced the horn compressor . I have removed the cup holder on the starboard side to get to the compressor but I am blocked with a support to get to horn. Also tried going in from cockpit dash no opening. Horn sound is embarrassing

You should have a grill or vent just below your Portside windshield (just outside of your helm seat - just above the side deck). This grill should be removable with two screws and a razor knife to cut the caulking. Remember to re-caulk it upon installation. I believe this is your only access on a 29.
Chris I took that plate off I could see the horn opening of the horn. Does it pull out from there I was afraid to damage it any more then it is all ready .that is why I tried to find another way to get to it. My next thought was to take the breaker panel out below deck.
I have not had to change a horn on a 29 Open, but I thought that it pulled out through that grill. It may not however. There has to be a way to get to it, although it was likely installed before the cap was lowered onto the hull. Sometimes engineers do not design things to be easy to access after the fact, although Tiara does a better job of this than most manufacturers.
Where is the breaker panel that would give you access to this area (I'm not picturing it)? Is there an arch access pannel that you can pull and reach forward to the horn? Can you get outboard of the Starboard engine to access it from below? My guess is you would have to be very skinny (I know I wouldn't fit!) for this option.
The last resort would be to cut an access hole and install an access plate - If you can access the area. If you do resort to this, you must be very careful as there could be wiring running behind this area. I would cut it with a hole saw and only go deep enough to get through the glass. Using a jig saw would open you up to cutting all sorts of things you don't want to cut.
Chris I will try again in a few days and let you know how I make out. Thank you for your ideas I will them I am also to big to crawl around in the boat lol
Hey Chris,The horn access looks like i have to get it from inside the cabin.I have checked all other ways with no luck.it looks like i have to remove the paneling from the kitchen wall that holds the fuse panel. what a shi*y design they did to replace a stupid horn. The horn that is in there is a Marinco concealed single trumpet horn oem#11059.I am thinking it might be easier to find a electric horn and put that in its place. I will E-mail or call Tiara on Monday to see if i am right.
Hi I have done this and you are correct. It's through the cabin. You have to pull off the panel and pull out the vinyl to get to it. Make sure you get the right length horn. The part I recieved was too long and there is no way to make it fit. Try spraying some wd40 in the vent on the stbd side. It will free p the diaphragm which is often the issue. Good luck.
