with the cummins qsm 11 660 hp does the boat come with a low idle switch, for docking and going thru the harbor ??? if so what will that take your speed down to ??? approx??
I can't speak for the cummins, however our C12 powered boat has a high and low idle. High idle is 700RPM and the boat makes about 7.5kts (and a sizeable wake). At low idle, we're at 550rpm making about 6.2kts and still somewhat of a wake. Entering and leaving marinas, we're in and out of gear constantly otherwise I get (understandably) yelled at. You can make about 5kts on 1 engine and the boat will track straight with about 24 degrees of rudder.
That being said, the torque along with the boat being extremely well balanced makes it great to handle around the docks...

Careful with transmission. Engine off no trans fluid pumping through transmission may cause problems.
