Hello Mates,
I need to replace both props on my 1988 2700. Never done it before. Boat is in a slip. A local propeller shop told me that it might take 6-8 weeks if the props are nickel-bronze-aluminum alloy.  My manual doesnt specify the type or a product number.  What Im trying to avoid is taking the current props off then waiting 6 weeks for new to be installed.  I figured props were readily available.  

Do I need to stay with the alloy if thats the case or can I use any metal as long as the specifications match my boat (diameter, pitch, cup, etc).    My boat scrubber can take them off, I just dont want them lying around for weeks while I wait for replacement.

Any advice or experience on this process is appreciated!

Did they tell you why they had to be “replaced”? Unless you really hosed them up somehow, they can usually just be reconditioned. That might take a couple weeks to get them back. Sooner if you ask them to rush it.

If you email Tiara with your hull id they can tell you what it left the factory with. Why do you need to replace them? They often can be repaired or get a pitch change in a few days if you take them to your local shop.

Thanks guys .. the props are really bad. Zinc bars came off and the props look like they have been attacked by piranhas. Good tip on emailing Tiara. Thank you!
