Using a Hydrofoil to Improve Efficiency

We pit an Aquila 36 Sport Hydro Glide power catamaran with 600 hp against a nonfoiled 36 Sport powered by 800 hp. Did this new hydrofoil work as advertised, or did we bring a blade to a gunfight?
