Group question: The raw water strainer on my boat is on the bulkhead forward of the STBD 3208 375 HP Cat Diesel and is almost impossible to see let alone service. I had to make a special tool just to reach the GROCO cap and then unscrewing it and pulling the strainer is another challenge in itself using one hand. The Raw water pump is on the left side of the STBD engine is easily accessible for impeller inspection.
The PORT engine GROCO is a little easier but then the raw water pump is on the outboard side. Changing impeller is a feat in gymnastics by a thin skinny mechanic.
Has anyone relocated either one or the other of these strainers to centerline?
Thanks, Peter Hervish
