Have a 2001 Tiara 40 Open. Need to replace sending units in freshwater tank & holding tank & need length of each of the two sending units. Most recent survey states that the boat has two, 160-gallon freshwater tanks (Florida Marine) . My access to the single sending unit is under the storage unit on starboard side of boat in the raised floor under the table. Holding tank is listed as 57 gallons also from Floria Marine. That tank access is under floor in rear of second berth. I called Florida Marine & was unable to get info. I am sure that I can open the tanks & dip a dowel, but any help will be appreciated.
You can measure the old senders or reach out to Tiara customer service and ask for the cad drawing for your tanks. Depending on the year they should be able to provide this information.
Rather than ask for drawings of the tanks, ask Tiara for the p/n's of the senders, that will give you the lengths you want. The blackwater sender in particular should be significantly shorter than the depth of the tank to keep the float out of the solids at the bottom. IIRC, the recommendation is for the sender to be 2/3rds the depth of the tank for the blackwater.
I assume you aren't just pulling the senders (which is very simple with decent access) and measuring them because access is very difficult? Also, I believe that boat has two freshwater tanks totaling 160 gallons, not 160G/each.
