Own a 2004 36 Sovran with straight drives. Coming into marina, alarms went off and motors cut off. When trying to power back on one engine was engaged in reverse and one in forward. Mechanic has gone through everything obvious and cannot locate what could be wrong, so now he is going to pull the transmissions he says, even though when he drained them the oil was perfect, no metal. Everyone thinks it is odd that both transmissions would have failed at once.
Wondering if anyone here has heard of this or had a similar issue. Thank you
Sounds like your controls, I'm gathering from the year of your boat you have Cummins with Glenndinning controls. Sounds like it might be an electrical issue with the controls.
