I recently purchased a 2006 Tiara 29 Open. For some reason the engine hatch will not open. It was working fine then stopped. If I push the switch for the lift to go down, I can hear the electric motor, but when I push the switch for the hatch to go up, nothing happens. Any ideas why the hatch will not open? Also, is there a manual way to open the hatch? Thanks.

Not sure on the 29 but on the 31 and my current 38 OPEN you need to remove the jump seat on the forward portion of the L shape settee. There's a magnetic switch on my 38 and the 31 had a push button switch. The switch prevents you from trying to open the engine hatch with the seat in place

Also, if your helm seat moves forward and aft, you might have to move it all the way aft.
