I've never used the ice maker to make ice, just to keep ICE cold. The unit turns on, but no longer gets to freezing temperatur, it doesn't even get cold. Any ideas as to why?

Assuming it is an Icerette, Raritan has a troubleshooting guide available online. The issue you described can be caused by a number of things including
No power
Compressor failure
Thermostat failure
Timer stuck
The timer (dial behind square cover) turns off the compressor when it is trying to harvest ice out of the tray. If the timer gets stuck then no compressor. This would be the first thing I would check. Take a look at the troubleshooting guide and it will explain the tests to perform.

make sure the condenser fan is working, it will not cool/freeze without it.
