My stairs are beginning to ware. I think I am going to take the treads off and refinish over the winter. Has anyone done this? If so what did you use to refinish? Is there anything out there with some "Grip", the steps get pretty slippery when wet.
I used MinWax Spar Urethane [Helsman].....4 coats after cleaning them. On the last coat, I applied fine beach sand using a salt shaker to give them some grip......good luck!

Questions- Did you take it down to bare wood ? If so, what color stain was used if any?
I have 2900 open (99) and the 2 steps appear to have some color in them.
Tiara does not stain the wood. I have refinished my teak steps by sanding down to bare wood and refinishing with clear satin polyurethane and it matches the flooring quite well.
