Ice maker on 3500
#1
The ice maker is cold enough to maintain the ice . Water pump is on , but no ice . Is there a easy fix to clear the water line going into the ice maker ??? Or is this a issue that I'd need a refrigeration guy to visit me ? I'm located in Cape Coral FL , but the boat was from MD . I can drain the water tank once a week when I need to . But my main concern is the ice Thanks.............Rich

Same boat, same challenges.  Water enters the ice maker and freezes solid, but cubes do not release into the tray.

So, after spending many hundreds of dollars with Raritan, repairing a very expensive Tiara option, several times, I now use the Publix Ice Cube System.  It always works, is very cost effective and gives us a terrific product.

Good luck.

Our U-Line did this when it was about 14 years old. My tech removed the module above the ice bin and replaced it with a new module he had in stock. Apparently it is a common problem. It was an easy fix and not too pricey. I discovered the problem two days before we were due to go on vacation. He came over to our dock with the part the next day and installed it in about 15 minutes. A hour of labor plus the part was charged at the retail price available on the Internet.

It looks as simple as plug and play . I think I can buy the replacement module myself online . I also will replace the water solenoid valve too while I'm at it . I got a better look at the tray where the ice is formed today . It looked like the lining was torn up and the tray itself was very corroded. So I'll yank the old one out tomorrow and order the new one . I will give a update once the work is complete .

Ok, I just picked up my icerette from my local boat repair shop . I wound up taking it to a shop that does the repairs . This wound up being more than what I wanted to mess with . The whole tray module had to be replaced and the icerettes gases had to be evacuated . I also removed the piece that the icerette gets screwed into , removed the old caulking and reinstalled it with the 5200 adhesive caulking . It's drying as I type this note . I also picked up a water charcoal activated filter to install in the 1/4" water line that feeds the unit. I have to give the adhesive a few days to dry before I slip the icerette back into its cubby hole but I'll be making my own ice in a few days .

Next job on the list , removal of the insulated box & disconnect the drain on the rear port side of the L shaped seat . Clean the old adhesive and caulking off and reinstall the box with the 5200 adhesive. .................Rich

Are you sure you want to use 5200 for this project. Might make any future service very difficult to perform.

I prefer to pipe a large bottled water jug to an ice-maker rather than make cubes from the icky stuff in my tank.  And the Publix ready mades are an even better solution. The tank water is for showers and flushing.  Capt.  George

I think the speed of melting depends on the material and the quality of the storage bin. The [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] ice maker I bought has a nice storage container, and the ice cubes maintain for a quite long time. Also It doesn’t really require significantly more than occasional cleaning, which ensures these devices runs smoothly. It’s also a great idea to go with a special cleaner that is made for ice machines occasionally. The ice scoop also need to be cleaned periodically.
