You are absolutely spot on about the Cats. They are a tad on the thirsty side compared to my 450 Cummins but they can sure move the 42 at a strong cruise speed.
The weather has been unbelievable here. Far too many days in the high 90's. we much prefer our comfortable75- 80 degree days.
The boating here is great well in to October because of our proximity to the gulf stream. Just need more time and a few truck loads of fuel!
