Purchased several Ice machine over the years as well. Always a great job at a reasonable Price. Would recommend you contact them.  Mention Fred

I actually reached out to them to get an idea on costs. You are super happy with the work? The quote wasn’t cheap. I’m concerned with the long term issues with installing through hull fittings.

I agree with this also however we have been looking for a while and have yet to come across a boat with such low hours, decent price and well kept. Am I crazy for thinking that it’s worth it? I’m an avid boater with my whole life experience on the water but am I missing something?

That said there is a lot that goes into the job if the boat has not been previously rigged for AC. You would need to pull power from the breaker panel to the unit, power from the unit to the pump, install pump and sea strainer, pull wire and mount thermostat, install a thru hull for supply water, install a thru hull for discharge water, pull hoses from pump to unit to discharge, install duct work and grills for supply and return air.

I just added a second unit (self contained) to my helm and even with the thru hulls and pumps already installed it still was a big job. If you are paying someone to do all the work be prepared to write a big check. Dbracino is probably providing good advice in finding a boat with AC already installed.

Good luck and hope you find the right boat.

Thanks for the input. I feel like I can write a big check for work that’s well done. The boat seems worth it considering it’s near Bristol condition.
