Electric Grill Plug

I found a GFCI plug up under the gunnel just aft of where the shore power cord makes it exit from inside. It is on a breaker labeled engine room/cockpit or something like that. The problem is that it trips when something is unplugged from it. I installed a new outlet and it does the same thing. Have not had time to find out why.
