Cruising the ICW
#4
It can be a trip of a lifetime if you take your time. If you run outside to "make time" you miss so much and it will be BORING! My last trip north on my boat I took a month from St Petersburg FL to CT. We went Trawler speed all the way. It was fabulous! I agree with the others, make sure you have the lastest chart kits, and all the other guides you can find. I found the Skipper Bob books to be helpful with marinas, fuel cost, hazards on the ICW, and anchorages. Their web site used to give you all the updates on the hazards. Don't know about now. You have to keep alert on the ICW. If you just follow the Magenta Line on your chartplotter you will most assuredly go aground. Great trip! Don't miss it.
