How to change transmission oil on 4000 Express w CAT 3208's

You can try and get the drain bolt off, but that typically makes a giant mess (if you can get the plug out). Best way to do it is suck it out through the dipstick with an oil extractor.

I’d also plan on being judicious with the filter changes. I had designs on changing it every year when I do the oil, but at almost $100 each, I figured I could get a couple/few years out of each.

My setup is similar to yours where the oil change pump only draws, or fills the engines.  It's not connected to the transmissions.

I can reasonably reach the dipsticks, but they're short in length (maybe 4 inches) so I didn't think sucking oil out of the dipstick opening would be the best way to remove the oil.

Anyone else out there care to share their method of changing oil from the transmission?  By the way thanks!
