I have a 2900 Open and wish to upgrade my fish finder to a fish finder GPS chat plotter. I would prefer not going through the hull. Will a transom mont transducer work? Where on the transom should I mount it. A West Marine store manager said to mount it above the trim tabs, but I suspect there would be too much turbulence.
Would I be able to mount a transducer inside the hull and shoot through the bottom?
