I'm in this same situation right now and was wondering if anyone could provide input. Considering anywhere from 3600-4100. Current options I'm considering locally:
2007 3600 Open: CUMMINS QSB 5.9 w/ XENTA Joystick and 1925 hours. Priced at $240k
2009 3600 Open: Volvo IPS 400 with 1100 hours. Priced at $260k
2001 3800 Open: Cummins 6CTA 8.3 w/ 2000 hours. Priced at $250k
2001 4100 Open: CAT 3208 w/ 1500 hours. Priced at $175k
I'm preferring a bigger boat so a bit concerned about the 3600 size, but I also have limited experience so I highly value having joystick operations. Is the price difference really worth the jump to get the slightly more modern 3600 or later 3800 over the 4100?
