I'm happy with Boat/US. 65 years on the water and never a claim but that's not what gets you a better rate. Join the Power Squadron or CG Auxiliary and take some classes. Also having electronics aboard helps with a better rate. Also designate your cruising water area and your boating season. I once got a quote that included Alaska. Are you in the water year round? Boats over 10 years old are harder to insure and some companies have length limits. You WILL need a survey. An in-water survey is less expensive. Talk to someone that knows what a boat is, not a auto/home insurance guy. Just remember, it's how well they pay claims, not how low their rate is.
