Hello... I am new to the Forum. I owned a 1989 27 Tiara and now 199429ft Tiara. 29 was purchased in 2001 and re-powered with 240 Yanmars diesels. Her performance is far to none compare to the old 270 Crusaders.
Anyway...
Last Monday, I received a call from my marina stating that my automatic bilge pump is pumping diesel fuel into the water... you guess it, my fuel tank started to leak.
I know the boat is 1994 and I should not complain too much about it, but its the design and where the tank is situated that bothers me. I called Tiara to complain about the design and all they had to say was "it lasted 17 years and that's pretty good" well... I disagree to say the least. I believe good engineering practice, equipment should be design for at least 25 yrs. I was wondering if any of club members who owned 29ft had same situation as I am having.
