Quote:RickT - 8/22/2014 10:56 PMI have a 2006 sovran 3600, my question is, i m not sure I have a Y valve. I thought it would be on top of the holding tank, but I dont see one there. What I found is only the overboard valve was wired shut. So is there a Y valve somewhere? TIA
The proper procedure to be done in this order is
1) make sure the thru hull is 100% open
2) switch the Y Valve from the deck pump out to the overboard pump out
3) turn on the Macerator Pump
4) go to the back of the boat and wait for the bubbles which is the sign the tank is empty
5) turn off pump, switch Y Valve back to deck pump out and wire or lock it
IF you run the pump with the thru hull closed you will blow the duck bills out in the Macerator pump making it useless until the duck bills are replaced.
