Just my 2 cents.  You don't want the radar beam to hit the GPS antenna and you want to mount the unit at about a 5 degree down angle to account for the bow rising when you are running.  And DON'T cut the cable in order to snake it through a pipe.   Capt  George

if the Radar is above the GPS antenna, would this be acceptable placement?  to obtain a 5 degree down angle, are there shims available?  TIA

If its anything like the 39 Sovran that we had previously, or our current 42 Open, there should be an access panel on the under side of the hard top in the center.  You will center the new radar here...  Tiara generally has some sort of channel that you will then run the cable through.  If you're lucky, there will even be lines in there to pull the new cable.

If the beam is above the GPS antenna that's OK. You just don't want it to shine on the GPS and fry the electronics. For shims I have seen nuts and washers on the rear mounting bolts.  Capt. George
