I'll definitely have to reroute the hose somehow - protecting the hose will save me from a really bad day but I don't want the belt to go either. Surprised other folks haven't noticed this. Since it's right at the water pump it seems like an area most people would "visit" regularly to change the impeller. Makes me wonder if there is something about how the u-cooler is mounted in my boat that isn't normal. The port side isn't an issue because, at least it seems by looking at it, the pump spins the other way and the hoses are reversed.
