Dumping the icemaker

I'm not a fan of icemakers on smaller vessels (< 50'). You have to keep the water system clean and free of algae and bacteria and then they take forever to make a little tray of ice. You would be better off pulling the ice maker mechanism out of the unit and just using it to store a bag of store bought ice.

There is a company named "Happle" that manufactures all kinds of cabinet systems, tackle systems and drawers that will fill the ice maker space perfectly. Tiara uses them for many of cockpit drawer and tackle centers on the new boats. Google them and see what comes up.
