Be aware that 12 volt DC LED's are polarity sensitive. If they don't illuminate there is a chance the lamp is installed backwards. If you are installing LED's in a 120 volt AC circuit be aware that they do not dim as low as halogen lamps. Search on eBay, there are loads of LED replacement lamps from China. Capt. George

Thanks! I just ordered about 30 bulbs and will replace all of the interior cabin lighting and the helm and cockpit lighting. Will post results and if the lighting looks as good as the lighting I'm replacing.

LED's project turned out perfect! Used Marinebeam lights, great people to work with. Will post a picture soon.

I just placed an order for 6 replacement bulbs to try them in my cabin ceiling from Marine Beam. If I like them, will order the 30 more that I need. Their website and information is tremendous.

The most informative statement was "They should be rated "8 to 30 volts", not just 12 volts. I will shop more carefully now. Capt. George
Just replaced all the hot halogen lights with LED's. Looks great and a big decrease in the heat output. I do have an issue though with 3 of the existing ceiling fixtures not working (probably burnt out from the heat). I have started looking for the original type of fixture and it appears that they are not available. I was wondering if anyone has any they would like to sell ? It is the Imtra "Hatteras" flush mount series with the white rings.

Halogen light sockets do corrode and burn out from the heat but why not change just the socket. They are pretty standard and can be found on eBay. This should be easier than trying to locate a matching fixture. They are real inexpensive too. I have changed quite a few. Capt. George

Could anyone tell me how to get at the bulbs in the cabin? Don't want to break the "pucks" or any of the other fixtures. Thank you
