Holy crap, I have been looking at that remote for a year now and couldn't figure out what it was for. The batteries were corroded and I just didn't feel like buying them for something I didn't know what it was. I saw the receive behind the dash while I was installing the new Garmins but thought it was for the stereo.
Yeah it took me a while to figure it out as well. I was doing an electronics install, saw the receiver and the lightbulb went off, so to speak. Pretty nice feature. I rarely use the cablemaster and was contemplating switching that side over to the salon lights or underwater lights.

My remote only works the Hardtop lights not the Cable Master at this point....My Cable Master is controlled by a switch located on the starboard side in the cockpit.. Its a double pole double throw switch ("Up position" to put out the cable and "Down" to retrieve)... M2C
That's interesting. My receiver/fob is setup with 4 channels; one latches hard top lights on, one latches them off, one channel energizes the cablemaster out and the fourth is for cablemaster in. The cablemaster controls are momentary' requiring the fob button to be held down. Cablemaster also has a center off dpdt switch.
May be that a PO modified the system or some kind of factory option?

Thanks for the information.... I'm going to take a look at the receiver wiring to see if the Cable Master is wired to it... If it isn't I will see what needs to be done so the remote works the Cable Master....Wish me luck.. Would love to have the Cable Master controlled by the remotes
