Electric Grill Plug
#1
2002 38 Open. I would like to use an electric grill on the sink cover behind the helm seat  but need to plug it in to electric. Can't find an accessible outlet out there. Where should i install one?

I've used an electric griddle on the sink cover for years and its a perfect place.. When I purchased my 2003 38 Open there wasn't an ICE machine installed under the sink and as part of that installation I ran a 110 AC line from the under steps breaker panel (15 amps) to the inside of the cabinet directly below the seat mounting a duplex ground fault outlet. I use that outlet to power the ICE machine and power the griddle... Works great.

Place your grill at least ten feet away from other structures. Although it's recommended to have a cover for your grill, [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] is not necessary to keep your grill covered 24/7. Just remember to give your grill a good wipe down about once a month, and cover it when necessary. The more you take care of your grill, the longer it can make great meals with you.

I found a GFCI plug up under the gunnel just aft of where the shore power cord makes it exit from inside. It is on a breaker labeled engine room/cockpit or something like that. The problem is that it trips when something is unplugged from it. I installed a new outlet and it does the same thing. Have not had time to find out why.
