I have a 1992 33 open with gas engines and I have experenced water acumulating in the forward bilge. With no activity, no outside precipitation and sitting in the slip over night, a gallon or so will be discharged when the forward bilge pump is activated from the helm. There are 2 open ports below the water line on the bottom of the boat. One for the holding tank, which is closed off by valve in the engine bay and I'm not sure what the other one is for. There are a number of other ports besides the forward bilge drain port at the the water line, but I'm not sure what those are either. I suspect that there is a leak in some part of one of these systems hoses or fittings linked to the water comming into the forward bilge. Anyone had this problem or have any ideas on what to do or where to look? The boat is out of the water presently inside heated storage. Thanks :flag:

My first guess is that your shafts are leaking. Now is the time to have them looked at while you are out of the water. Next look in your Tiara manual and it will tell you what and where the seacocks are. If you don't have one, contact Tiara and have one e-mailed. There will be seacocks for the engines (2), A/C, generator, washdown, and head discharge. Also look at the rudder posts packing. Then maybe your fresh water or hot water tank is leaking. It's a tough diagnosis when you are out of the water. When afloat again, use talcum power sprinkled in the bilge to track it down. Capt. George

First things first. Is that water fresh water from the fresh water tank or rain/hose water from a deck drain, or is it raw water coming from the water the vessel is sitting in? If your vessel is in salt water, it is easy enough to tell, just taste it. Your vessel's lowest point is the forward bilge, so any water leaking from aft is going to migrate forward while the vessel is at rest. If you have determined it is raw water, then as captain George suggested, I would look at the rudder shaft seals, engine shaft seals, Air-conditioning raw water pump lines and thru-hulls and all other below waterline thru-hulls. If it is fresh, then you need to look at the fresh water pressure lines, all deck drains and hot water heater and hot water lines. As Capt. George mentioned, it is tedious and you just have to eliminate one area at a time. talcum powder or water leak dyes will help you track the water migration through the bilge system.

First of all Thank You very much for your replies and advice! I very much appreciate the info. I wasn't aware the the Forward and Aft bielges were conected. Is that true?
