Hello, we own a 2006 3600 Open and have been very happy with it over the past 10 years (second owners). We are looking to get into something newer and bigger, been focused on 2016 to 2020 4300’s. I was initially interested in the 3900 but there seems to be few of those avaiable. Have looked at one 4300 and like the layout but have a few questions for any fellow owners out there. How is the forward visibility underway? It seems that the videos I’ve seen on Yachtworld show quite a bit of bow rise. Any comments on the noise level? I haven’t found a boat test with dB levels. Any help/guidance would be most appreciated.
Well it will likely be for sale soon! 600 hours, done a bunch of pre-emptive maintenance on the engines but not the 1000 hour service yet. Located in Westport MA.
We purchased a 2022 43 open (4300)
After much discussion with boat captains, mechanics etc, we went with the Volvo D-11’s.
I have no issue with forward visibility. The boat is very quick to jump on plane.
As for the noise level, it is extremely quiet compared to the Cummins powered Pursuit 2001 3400 we moved up from(basically the same boat as the Tiara 3500.
Underway on the Pursuit, it was noisy and it was hard to carry on a conversation without raising your voice.
I was amazed at how quiet the Volvo’s are on the 43. They clearly put in much more insulation/sound proofing.
You can carry on a normal conversation and I am very pleased with the lack of noise!!!!

Thanks so much for getting back. This is helpful as my wife is pushing for a much quieter boat, maybe pods or outboards. It seems as though the new LE, LS and LX models in this size range all use the big 600 hp Versdos, which I am a little afraid of from a reliability standpoint. it sounds as though the vertical lift mufflers in the 43 open really do make a difference. Glad to know that visibility looking forward is not impeded. Thanks again.
Just confirming, do you have straight shafts or pods?
I have the straight shafts. The pods were not something I was comfortable with. I have heard many stories of people having issues and problems getting someone that is able to work on them. We have plans for extended Bahamas trips and did not want to deal with that.
I have noticed the pod boats sit on the market and keep having price reductions so that means something.

Again, thanks for getting back. I pulled the trigger on a 2017 with Volvo D11's. Seems quite underway but harsh in and out of gear, big wheels. Will likely use the trolling motors around the docks.

Hello Woodworker2001, I am prettying her up for sale right now. 620 hours, scheduling the 1000 hour engine service for May. Flag Blue Hull painted in 2013 and still looks new. Upgraded electronics package in 2016 to include (2) Raymarine GS165 glass touch screen displays, RD424HD Radome, FLIR 253 thermal night vision camera, upgraded the house battery bank a couple of years ago to include (6) Rolls S12-128 AGM Group 31 Deep Cycle Batteries (1000 MCA) and Xantrex 1800 watt inverter so that we can run the fridges and plugs underway without running the generator, larger anchor, spare set of propellers. I have yet to do research on a price but open to offers before I turn her over to my broker for sale. Just took possession of a 2017 43 Open so making what will likely be the last move up! I have enclosed one pic as that is all they allow but let me know if you are interested and I’ll send more to your directly. Mike 508-322-0653 RMSullivan1@gmail.com
