I own a year 2000n Tiara 3700 Open. The trim tabs that came from the factory are not performing very well. Has anyone had experience replacing the standard trim tabs with larger tabs such as 24x9 inch. If so how did you successfully install larger tabs on the 3700 Open? Thank you, Frank Berke
So I don’t have an official answer. There are several Facebook groups for Tiara owners and they have talked about this modification on one of them…it’s a place to look.
I have the 38 Open and have thought about doing the same…the bow rides so high with the bow down buried…I am not sure if when we push the bow down more will it increase the performance or make it worse
Captaingeorge, your 38 rides bow high? My 38 is bow heavy, almost never use tabs unless really light on fuel and heading into a steep head sea. I do have a bow thruster (and 2 big lead-acid batteries) as well as an all-chain rode, which may be why.
Runaway, I am not sure, but guessing the 37 has recessed tabs? You might want to look into Zip Wakes ($$) or maybe even the Humphree Interceptors or SeaKeeper Ride system ($$$$). First step would be to confirm the existing tabs are making full travel though!
