Olive oil works well on the tea wood. If it has never been oiled it will soak up a good bit. For the teak and holly floor we use 1 part vinegar and 2 parts of water.

Home Port: Stuart, FL
Vessel Info: 1988 36' Convertible with new 8.1 Crusaders.
Exceptional condition, inside, outside, bilges and engines.
Both my '88 31 Open and my present 36 Convertible interiors (lots of teak) always look like new. I use plain water on a rag to remove water spots. If there is any ground in dirt or grime I use Softscrub. Then when the wood is clean and dry I wipe on Watco teak oil (Lowes or Home Depot) or any teak oil from West. In the shower / galley area I use a limited amount of Minwax Clear Satin Varnish because these areas always have water stains. On the teak and holly deck I put on three coats of the Minwax Clear Satin Varnish. I also Varnished the steps in the 31 and put on non-skid white strips. I also use Super Clean (Walmart) in the bilges. Spray it on, wait five minutes and hose it off. Wear gloves for this stuff. They say its biodegradeable. Looks terrific after 24 years. Capt. George

Thanks all. How bot the teak steps, just the 3 in the companionway. They're bare now but my doe leaks when I wash so the look a little dirty as they get wet/used.
