Hey guys,Im looking at the two boats above. Is the 2003 31 8.1 fresh water cooled in the elbows and risers, I think the manifolds are? The 2006 29 6liter is f/w cooled in the manifolds and risers> Im having a hard time making the choice . Both are clean,The 2006 29 has newer nicer electonics,500 hrs ,a bow thruster,bait station,syncromizers,open array,,, The 2003 31,cost 20k more,3 years older,larger cabin ,has a 5k genorator, 8.1 engines with 250 hours ,original electronics,no bait station,open array. Both will fill my needs (fishing and weekend stay overs). Any thoughts??

I have a 1998 31 open and all I can say is the boat is great the extra room will come in handy with the wife and kids.

I went through the same thing and ended up with the 29. In my case the 29 had 1/2 the hours of the 31.

11 years and 1100 hours later I still don't regret the decision. It was the right one for me, but you really can't go wrong with either one.

I'm shocked about the bow thruster in the 29 however. I see no need for one unless you deal with a strong current on 1 engine.
