Thanks for info.i had a33 open before and would blow out system also.owners manual said to drain tank first but it seems impossible to get to tank.i did the pink stuff because I was concerned with the residual that pump didn't get.i agree the taste takes awhile to get rid of.i have Cummings 480 Che's in my boat.do you have Cummings and if so do you have preheat.bill wading River ny.
I also noted your post on leaking hatches.my are leaking from the seal between the acrylic and frame.I would like to change the acrylic when I rebed.where did you get acrylic for hatch.bill
Also do you do anything special to engine s. I ran anti freeze through and then drained muffler.seemed most of anti freeze came out shaft so I emptied muffler. Is this typical.

I don't believe you have to empty the tank completely although if that makes you happy that's it.... The tank is Aluminum and with the little that may be left I look at it as a big ice cube tray.... Never had a problem although there is always a first time.....Agree it's impossible to drain completely.... My 2003 has 450 Diamond Series 6CTA Cummin's.... Great engines......Can't remember the last time I preheated the engines. They start easily, even after sitting the entire winter....
Not sure which post you read regarding leaking hatches but it's not mine.... My hatches are solid and don't leak at all.....
I stay in the water year round and get a short haul every 2 years to do the bottom and change zinc's (replace shaft zinc's during the summer of the 2nd season using tanks and going under the boat)... I change engine oil/filters, fuel filters (Racor's/engine), and fresh water cooling filters that are on the engines every year before I lay it up for the winter. I also drain the mufflers and saltwater intake strainers after the engines are winterized w/non-tox antifreeze....
Looks like you live near me.. We boat out of the North Shore in Smithtown. Where do you keep/boat from?????
