I'd look in the Great Lakes. There are some great fresh water Tiara's there! Maybe contact a broker from skipper buds. Very old and reputable company and one of the bigger Tiara dealers.

I already have one lined up in New York, sorry for the confusion. Just asking what to look for before I take the final leap

I'd highly recommend Mark Mastrangelo (419-502-6099) for surveying if you can get him to the vessel. He knows tiaras inside and out. If its a Lake Erie Tiara, good chance he's surveyed it or he knows a previous surveyor of it. I'd even have him review the survey from someone else for a second opinion/recommendation.

How is transportation handled when you buy a boat out of state?

Hi Crown Me,
With of the lack of a good used Tiara selection in Southern California I end up shipping at least 5 boats in per year. Luckily I travel to all the major shows in the US. In fact I just landed in Miami for the show here this weekend. Going to all these shows has allowed me to build of a great network of contacts in every major boating market. If I didn't have these contacts to check things out for me it would be impossible to find top notch boats out of state. One my client lands on a out of state boat. I have a local contact check it out. If all looks well we make out offer sight unseen to make sure we are in the ball park before flying out to sea trial and survey the vessel. If all go's well I then contact various trucking company's that I know to be reputable and solicit bids for for transport. I also line up a tec to remove everything on the hardtop and possibly shrink wrap the vessel and then reinstall once it reaches one of our shipyards in SoCal
I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you have anymore. I'll be happy to help you out. If you give me a LOA, beam or vessel Year and make I can give you a ball park shipping cost.
Hello, i just purchased a 4300 Sovran through SkipperBuds on Lake Michigan. The boats on Lake Michigan I believe are in the best condition. Mine is a 2007 and it looks brand new. Boats can only be in water late April thru Oct. Reach out to Sean Owen at sowen@skipperbuds.com. Sean knows just about every Tiara sold on Lake Michigan over the past 15 years. Well connected.
Good luck.
Andrew
